Project Characteristics and Results
Gender Focus
All in all, women?s participation will remain central in the entire process even in the formation of monitoring of committees. Emphasis will be placed on the relationship between gender especially women and misuse of environment, climate change and land degradation. All trainings will have at least 50% of women?s participation especially the dialogue sessions.
Promoting Public Awareness of Global Environment
Feed backs and forward feeds will be encouraged from inception to project completion at donor and community levels. Detailed and summarized findings and results will be sent to donors and targeted communities. Success cases, lesson learnt sessions will be captured and fed into partner organizations. There are great chances of up scaling this intervention. For instance communities should be encouraged to realize the benefit of using more charcoal efficient stove or domestic solar energy. This over time will reduce pressure on the natural forest. Similarly alternative livelihoods can be provided to loggers? while advocacy and mobilization of resources for the construction of gravity dam to improve water quality. More emphasis will be placed on monitoring of the indiscriminate use of the natural resources. Links with the National Commission will be forged to share experience and concerns especially for the protection of forest reserves.
