The composition of the KNFMA based on the pure volution of communities to manage the natural resources around committees without political interference by itself is a sustainable arrangement. Also the direct involvement of these people in the implementation of land reclamation which will lead to increased practical knowledge, skills and passion for the job ensures sustainability. Finally, payment for labor which is a way of earning and the use of the reclaimed land for agricultural production will also serve as a very good incentive for the people to continue this exercise in a sustainable manner.

The essence of working on demonstration plots at the start is to ensure easy access to those sites for valid information that will motivate viewers who have passion for nature to learn the necessary skills for replication in other deforested or degraded sites. Further it is intended that other funding agencies will be attracted by these kind of community innovative demonstrations and try to do it on a larger scale. Furthermore, it is also intended that the Kenema district Council and Ministry of Agriculture Forestry and Food Security (MAFFS) will gather information from such demonstration sites and then factor these into their yearly strategic plans to implement this on a wider scale. Finally it is expected that some of the land will be used for livelihood activities such as fish farming, fuel wood collection and charcoal burning in wood lots that will serve as motivation for community people to continue implementing this project.

Training for sustainability is a good package of this project. Where necessary, experts from the department of Forestry and or SLARI will be hired to conduct training right on site that will enhance community people to use knowledge subsequently with little or no assistance.

the project will influence policy formulation and enforcement on the Kambui Reserve and seek enhanced livelihood opportunities for the communities.
