Project Characteristics and Results
Notable Community Participation
An initial community focus group discussion was organized at the community level involving women, youth and community elders on the planning and design of the project. As evident in the implementation plan, youth and community people will be involved in the implementation of the project including monitoring and evaluation to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in delivery. Additionally, their involvement will ensure that future generations are empowered, ensuring FECs and particularly their youth become active environmental activists for the Gola Rainf
Capacity - Building Component
From a capacity needs assessment conducted, it was discovered that the target groups including the targeted CBOs are weak in the following areas.
? Communication and information management
? Financial Management
? Forest inventory
? Forest law enforcement strategies
? Village saving and loan/social fund scheme management
The project shall undertake to train the FMC and community members in these areas. This will enable the FMCs to manage their own affairs when project shall have phased out.
As already stated, MUWODA has trained, qualified and experience administrative and technical staff with over ten (10) years each in successful project delivery services.
