Effectively support the promotions of sustainable management of the community natural capital to reduce the green house gas emission and improve on crop yield by the end of the cropping season 2017/18
The proposed project is to promoting the sustainable management of the community natural capital to reduce the green house gas emission and improve on crop yield by the end of the cropping season 2017/18 through the implementation of initiative such as maintain or improve flow of agro-ecosystem and forest ecosystem services to sustain livelihoods of local communities and reduce pressures at community level for competing land uses. Introduction of Climate Smart Agricultural practices towards sustainable land and forest resource management that includes agro forestry, Inland valley swamp cultivation of rice farming, vegetable gardening and the establishment of tree nursery especially for oil palm production and other tree plant that can support the trapping of the green house gases into the atmosphere.

The project will also promoting soil fertility by planting leguminous plants (for nitrogen fixing) and fast growing economic trees to prevent loss of land cover and soil erosion. This will go a long way in address poor yield as a result of over cultivation of land which normally results to a greater exposure of different gases and less soil fertility for productivity. Accelerate agro-ecology programmes that includes conservation of genetic resources especially appropriate varieties of species that will ; promotes climate smart agriculture, agro ecological innovative farming and avoid slash and burn thus reducing emission of GHG.

The project will strengthen the capacity of communities and the farmer based groups around the operational area to ensure that stakeholders are fully engaged (local and central governments) in constructive dialogue on environmental planning and policy development for the development of bye laws that will discourage the continuous felling of trees and possible forms of alternative livelihoods practices that can be practiced at the community level using resources mobilized by the Tamuya Development Organization. It will effectively promote capacity development of women groups/organization to advocate for prioritization and environmental friendly utilization of natural resources, to women that what to implement local innovative practices in sustainable agriculture, low carbon technologies especially in the areas of acquiring land for production purposes.

The project will build capacity through developing and implementing exchange programmes for communication of operation and even non community members to ensure greater visibility of the SGP in the localities and nearby districts.
