Sensibilisation, renforcement des capacités et la participation à la surveillance continue par les CLPA
The district of Sembé contains on its South-West plan several blocks of clearings essential to the maintenance and the restoration of the corridors of migrations of the elephants between the North-West of the Odzala-Kokoua National Park in the Congo and the Minkébé National Park in Gabon. These corridors are subject to strong disturbances of poaching that may lead to the fragmentation of elephant popukations. To this end, the objective of this project is to assist the local people and indigenous peoples of the villager lands of Mazingo and Dia to contribute in a practical way to the continuous community surveillance of the clearings adjacent to the village, with a view to development of ecotourism and to maintain and restore this major migratory corridor of large mammals, including elephants and gorillas. To do so, we should not only provide financial subsidies to motivate them to organize themselves to monitor them, but also and above all help them develop income-generating activities that would occupy them on a daily basis and divert them from conducting expeditions. hunting that destroys the ecological integrity of this area
