Project Characteristics and Results
Significant Participation of Indigenous Peoples
Although the department have technical staff, some community members will be hired and students volunteers will be train on rapid biodiversity survey, nursery management and monitoring of saplings in the field. This will be a better approach of knowledge transfer.
Promoting Public Awareness of Global Environment
During consultative meetings, radio and newspaper presenters will be invited to cover the entire event. At each deliverable, a project report will be sent to UNDP and all stakeholders involved in the project. At the end of the project, one day will be allocated for presentation of results to the public (public hearing) and a day for field visit. Final report will be documented, and copies disseminated to all stakeholders, uploaded on the University website. Promotional materials such as Tee shirts, and caps will be distributed to participants. Journal articles will be developed and published in peer reviewed and recognized journals.
