The Project covers all the village lands of the "Terre Kaboungas" Peripheral North East of the Lake Télé Community Reserve (RCLT). it is a forest massif containing more than a dozen elephant and gorilla glades, under pressure from elephant poaching for ivory. It is the connection point between the south of the Nouabalaé-Ndoki National Park (PNNN) and the Lac Télé Community Reserve (RCLT). The local population is heavily made up of indigenous peoples. There is a network of elephant migration corridors. The project develops the following activities: * Promote the development of food crops and non-timber forest products; * Continuous community monitoring and ecotourism development of the blocks of clearings adjacent to the village lands of Terre des Kaboungas. * Find a partner for the development of community ecotourism. More than thirty (30) households from Local Communities are involved in the development of this Project. It aims to secure frequentation sites for large mammals for the development of community ecotourism; To reduce the hunting effort, with a view to securing game harvesting areas threatened by the bushmeat trade; To create the conditions for the development of community ecotourism underpinned by an accredited economic operator, while guaranteeing sustainability. The proximity of the industrial city of Pokola with an airport and mini hotels is an asset.

Project Characteristics and Results
Policy Influence
Notable Community Participation
Before the project, young people lived mainly from poaching. As part of the Project, new opportunities have been offered in the development of sectors of income-generating activities compatible with the conservation of biodiversity.
