The village terroir of intervention is located in Likonda on the right bank of the Likouala herb river, in the southern peripheral zone of the Lake Télé Community Reserve (RCLT). it is a poaching hotspot due to the existence of elephant clearings. The local population is made up of the Bantus (Bomitaba). There are North-South elephant migration corridors along the grassy Likouala valley. The Likouala river with herbs, a tributary of the Congo River, is rich in fish. The land has a high density of trees of melliferous species which allow communities to traditionally harvest a lot of honey (cutting down of melliferous trees and burning of beehives). The project develops the following activities: * Ensure continuous community surveillance of the elephant / gorilla clearing adjacent to the settlement areas; * Promote beekeeping in selected village lands; * Develop sustainable fisheries. About thirty households from Local Communities are involved in the development of the three (3) types of activities mentioned above. The Project aims to secure sites frequenting large mammals for the eventual development of community ecotourism; To reduce the hunting effort, with a view to securing game harvesting areas threatened by the bushmeat trade; To carry out the domestication of bees for the production of a honey that does not destroy the environment, then finally to increase the yields of fisheries, while guaranteeing sustainability.

Project Characteristics and Results
Policy Influence
Notable Community Participation
Before the project, young people lived mainly from poaching. As part of the Project, new opportunities have been offered in the development of sectors of income-generating activities compatible with the conservation of biodiversity.
