The Project area is located in the land of Mobayi-Ibamba at the edge of the bayi river, the North West limit of the Lac Télé Community Reserve (RCLT) is a poaching hotspot. The local population is mainly made up of indigenous peoples. It contains the preferred biotopes of gorillas, elephants and migratory birds (clearings, migration corridors and nesting boxes). The river Bayi, a tributary of the Likouala aux Herbes river, itself a tributary of the Congo River, is rich in fish. As part of the harvest, communities traditionally harvest a lot of honey (cutting down honey trees and burning beehives). The project develops the following activities: * Ensure continuous community surveillance of the elephant / gorilla clearing adjacent to the settlement areas; * Promote beekeeping in selected village lands; * Develop sustainable fisheries. About thirty households of Local Communities and Indigenous Peoples (CLPA) are mobilized in the development of the three (3) types of above-mentioned activities. The Project aims to secure the sites frequented by large mammals and migratory birds for the eventual development of community ecotourism; To reduce the hunting effort, with a view to securing game harvesting areas threatened by the bushmeat trade; To carry out the domestication of bees for the production of a honey that does not destroy the environment, then finally to increase the yields of fisheries, while guaranteeing sustainability.

Project Characteristics and Results
Policy Influence
Notable Community Participation
Before the project, young people lived mainly from poaching. As part of the Project, new opportunities have been offered in the development of sectors of income-generating activities compatible with the conservation of biodiversity.
