The Project is developing in the southern ring road of the Léfini Reserve in the village land of MPoho and others, with the control of elephant bathing. which is a poaching hotspot. The local population is mainly made up of the Bantu. Also the basin of the Nambouli river, a tributary of the Léfini river, itself a tributary of the Congo River, is threatened by the practice of slash-and-burn agriculture and bush fires. The project is developing the following activities: * Ensure continuous community surveillance of elephant bathing adjacent to the village land where it is located; * Promote the development of income-generating activities compatible with the conservation of biodiversity, including pig production and sharecropping; ; * Promote the development of community ecotourism. About thirty households are mobilized. The Project aims to secure sites frequenting large mammals for the eventual development of community ecotourism; To reduce the intensity of bush fires and the sedentarization of agriculture, with a view to reducing soil erosion in the Nambouli basin; To produce and share-cropping pigs, in order to provide a new opportunity for income-generating activities.

Project Characteristics and Results
Policy Influence
Notable Community Participation
Before the project, young people lived mainly from poaching. As part of the Project, new opportunities have been offered in the development of sectors of income-generating activities compatible with the conservation of biodiversity.
