This project is designed to plant economic trees to achieve and strengthen plantation farming and climate change adaptation in Futa and Bumbeh, Pejeh Chiefdom, Bengi, Kpangaa Chiefdom.
The project has two objectives:
1) To empower communities and the youth to create a safer, healthier, cleaner, and greener environment.

2) To alleviate poverty through building, strengthening, and empowering the communities to produce adequate amounts of food without destroying the environment.
At the end of the project, we are expecting a change in the Agricultural practice of farmers in the target communities and an environmentally sustaining society.

Project Characteristics and Results

Emphasis on Sustainable Livelihoods

Community members will actively participate in the project through nursery establishment and management and be encouraged to nurture the economic trees. This skill is helpful in establishing nursery as a business to generate income as entrepreneurs. planted for posterity.

Significant Participation of Indigenous Peoples

Indigenous people will be encouraged to fully participate in the project, the trainings will be conducted in the lingua franca to ensure that everyone can understand the concept.

Capacity - Building Component

The organization has previously embarked on a tree planting campaign supported by the Ministry Environment and the Environmental Protection Agency. This experience is vital in executing the project

Policy Impact

The project anticipates being part of the policy preparation and change, advocacy and public awareness on topical issues across the different networks.

Promoting Public Awareness of Global Environment

The project shall share the relevant experiences, ideas and information gathered during our discussions with the community members through different strategies including print and online media and consequently enable the farmers to share their views, feelings and ideas.

Gender Focus

The role is women is very significant, more than 60% of the farming/agricultural activities are done by women. They are the vegetable farmers and take care of the farm immediately after the ploughing up to the post-harvest. They also have a good stock of knowledge that the project can use to achieve its goals.

Inovative Financial Mechanisms

Through the different networks and approaches, the stakeholders shall earn from the works of others which will enable knowledge enrichment and support towards complementary role to others. The project will ensure that stakeholders participate in relevant meetings, conferences and workshops to gather knowledge and information, and strengthen our practice within the sector.

Notable Community Participation

Youth and other stakeholders were consulted during the proposal development through a one-time events, presentations, workshops, webinars, story projects, etc. During the consultations, the youths actively participated in the process and methods of community selection, assessment of relevance and applicability of proposed strategies.
