This project is about Economic Empowerment of Women through Climate Smart Agriculture in Bo district, Sierra Leone. The Objectives of this project will enhanced production, income and nutrition-sensitive climate-resilient livelihoods among targeted communities; Increased opportunities for women to invest in climate-resilient agriculture at district and community levels. The project excepted income will be but not limited to Production, income levels and nutrition sensitive livelihood diversification among 5 targeted communities improved. It will be implement in 5 communities at Wonde Chiefdom, Bo District.
Primary Objectives:
?Enhanced production, income and nutrition-sensitive climate-resilient livelihoods among targeted communities;
?Increased opportunities for women to invest in climate-resilient agriculture at district and community levels.
Specific Objectives
1.Technical capacity of 10 farmer groups (including hunger safety nets beneficiary households) to adopt market-driven CSA value chains improved.
2.Organizational capacity of 5 community land and water management committees strengthened on use of climate resilient practices to rehabilitate degraded land
Awareness created in 5 communities on recognition of women?s roles in CSA and favorable attitudes/ practices about women using technology promoted.
