The project builds on Nature Seekers' experience and expertise in marine turtle conservation and ecotourism and will address development of a nature tour enterprise. Some of the ecotourism activities will be in the Environmentally Sensitive Area (ESA) Matura National Park, designated in October 2004. The outputs of the project will also provide tangible demonstration of local communities' participation and livelihood benefits in National Park management as a model for other communities and in other ESAs to be designated in the future.
