With the incorporation of the gender approach in development processes, in general, and in projects, in particular, an effective and sustained contribution is made to strengthen the participation of women and men in all aspects of the project because they must be based on the knowledge and skills of all members of the community. This also ensures that the project approaches and includes the differentiated needs of women and men and that their experiences become part of the knowledge produced and lessons learned from the project.
The guide presented below details the mechanisms to address the gender approach at the rural level, integrates the gender-focused actions in the PPD and describes the steps for the preparation and implementation of projects with a gender approach, including: identification of the problem, formulation, implementation, monitoring, evaluation and measurement of impact and lessons learned.
This document seeks to ensure that those who execute projects have the basis on which to develop actions aimed at strengthening economic empowerment in interventions. For its use, it is recommended to follow the steps for the preparation and implementation of projects with a gender approach, described in this guide.
